Our Founder’s Story


In Nasoan Sheftel-Gomes’ (she/her) two-decade career, as a lawyer, she has had many bosses. But when she was promoted to a leadership position, she didn’t have any role models for the kind of leader she wanted to be.

To navigate leadership as a black woman with intersecting identities, Nasoan had to develop the skills, mindset and confidence to lead from her core values.

In order to embody the type of leadership that reflects one’s values it is crucial to get clear on one’s leadership style and philosophy. Nasoan learned that leading authentically for her meant reimagining problematic organizational systems that aren't inclusive for all workers and developing a leadership style based in equity, exploration of diverse thought and experiences, and building psychological safety and inclusion into all aspects of leading people.

Nasoan can work with you to develop your own leadership brand, understand and name your core leadership values, develop leadership skills for today’s distributed and diverse workforce, help you discover your authentic voice and how to use it to shape and unearth the full potential of your teams  and organizations.

TLC provides leadership coaching and organizational development consulting. We support the development of methods and mindsets to shift organizational culture and build equitable organizations, including strategic thought partnership, assessment of existing systems, re-imagining and implementing equitable and inclusive policy. Being a leader at this moment takes dynamic adaptive skills, an ability
to manage uncertainty, and a vision for transformation to a future that doesn’t yet exist. TLC provides individual and group coaching support, a learning community for BIPOC leaders, thought partnership and strategic development for organizations.

  • TLC’s organizational development work includes group and individual coaching, strategy, facilitation and thought partnership. TLC works with organizations seeking to develop equitable anti-racist workplaces. TLC helps organizations evaluate and recreate their systems to eliminate bias, and systemic racism and co-creates solutions for building an equity-driven anti-racist approach to people, culture, operations, and leadership. TLC understands the challenges and demands inherent in today’s workplaces and offers our clients new skillsets, mindsets, and resets.
